Herons take it to the Rangers

In another very closely contested match between these teams of similar abilities, it was the Herons who came out on top this time. The first half the Herons started on the front foot passing the ball more and to good effect. After twelve minutes of chances at either end it was the Herons who opened the scoring, A good pass from Olly sent Jack through on goal whose shot was fumbled by the Rangers keeper who despite his best efforts couldn't prevent the ball from crossing his line. Despite chances at both ends, there was no further score in the first half.

The second half started with both teams cancelling each other out, but after 6 Minutes a long throw from Olly found Josh who controlled the ball at the edge of the area before beating the defender and shooting the ball in the lower-left corner to double the Herons advantage. As the game progressed signs of fatigue crept into the Herons play allowing the Rangers to get on top. Only some goalkeeping heroics from Gethin prevented a Rangers comeback. The Herons still threatened the Rangers goal on the occasional counter with Adam having a good shot come flying back out after hitting the post, but there were to be no more goals leaving the Herons to run out winners in this pre-season friendly.
